Cloudflare Spectrum with CNAME setup
Today Cloudflare launched Spectrum to all Pro and Business users with a limited quota:
- Pro: 5 GB traffic, supports SSH (22/tcp) and Minecraft (25565/tcp, 25565/udp). 10 concurrent connections max
- Business: 10 GB traffic, supports SSH, Minecraft and RDP. 100 concurrent connections max
This quota is more than enough for personal use. You can setup Spectrum in dash.cloudflare.c0m right now if you are already a paid user.
I’ve been using CNAME setup with Cloudflare. After setting up Spectrum the page didn’t give me the IP address which I should use to connect to my Cloudflare Spectrum PoP. I found a way to get it and thought I’d share with you.
When configuring Spectrum it asks you for “Application Domain”. Append
.cdn.cloudflare.net to it so it looks something like
spectrumapp.birkhoff.me.cdn.cloudflare.net. It’s your CNAME for the Spectrum App. Just set it up in your NS and enjoy!
